UCEA CONFERENCE 2012
It’s time once again to register for 2012 membership and the UCEA Winter Conference happening January 19th and 20th. For your information:
1. Membership dues are $50 per year. If you can’t attend the Winter Conference, but still wish to be included in the Association membership and provide support for the organization, please submit the Conference Registration Form and check the box indicating “$50 annual membership w/no conference.” You can pay using the PayPal link below.
Note: This will keep you current on our e-mail roster for all UCEA news and announcements. This applies to “active” and “associate” members alike.
2. Sponsorship: We will again be looking for help from the “private sector” for conference sponsorship assistance. Sponsorships can be $250 (partial sponsor) or $500 (full sponsor). Please contact Leon Berrett or Don Overson if you can help.

3. Gift: This year, conference attendees will receive a long-sleeved UCEA shirt as part of the conference registration and fee. It is important that you register early so that we can order the right shirt sizes. That order will be made by December 22nd. If you are concerned that your registration may not be completed by then and you are planning to attend the conference, please send an e-mail to Don Overson and your shirt size will be added to the shirt order.
4. Highlights: As you are already aware, we have changed our conference venue for 2012 to the Hilton Garden Inn. Hotel rooms are available there at a group rate (refer to the registration form for reservation details). This year we are also planning to hold our banquet at the hotel. The conference will again include great speakers, great food and great fun! Presentation topics include city and project spotlights, cured-in-place pipe, pavement management strategies, emergency management, human resources, and Randy Whalen (need we say more?). We are hopeful that David Church will be available again this year to give an annual legislative update and answer some of your legal questions. Nate Nelson of West Jordan will also be making a presentation on his experiences in Iraq.
5. Photo Contest: We are planning to sponsor another UCEA Photo Contest this year. We will again be accepting photo entries showing strange, funny, unique or “less than satisfactory” construction or public works activities from around Utah. The photo will not be labeled so you can submit a photo from your own city without fear of identification. The photo must be from a source with which you have been involved or of which you have personal knowledge. Please do not send photos from the Internet. You may submit multiple photos, but you must choose one as your official contest entry. Extra photos will be included in a slide show to be shown at the conference. You may include a caption with your photo if you would like. Judging will be done by the conference attendees and there will be cash prizes for first, second and third place finishers.
